REGLAS GENERALES

 

El “Kursaal Film Festival San Sebastián” (KFFSS) es un festival internacional de cine de cortometrajes promovido por cineastas para poner en valor el talento cinematográfico de los cineastas. El formato del festival es online VOD (streaming) con la celebración de una fiesta de entrega de premios dentro del Filmmaker’s Weekend Fest (FWF).

 

Al inscribirse en el KFFSS el cineasta participante acepta someterse al cumplimiento de las siguientes

BASES DE PARTICIPACIÓN

​

1/.- REQUISITOS GENERALES DE INSCRIPCIÓN:

• Género de las películas es libre, dentro del marco establecido por estas bases.

• Duración de 1 a 30 minutos.

• Las películas deben estar instaladas en Vimeo (con clave de acceso), accesibles sin restricciones de edad y con la opción de inserción habilitada. Cualquier otra opción de plataforma de streaming, como Youtube o Dailymotion, que no disponga de las opciones de inserción, seguridad y privacidad de Vimeo, será por cuenta y riesgo del cineasta.

• Idiomas: Las películas en un idioma distinto del español deberán tener obligatoriamente subtítulos en español, en formato SRT seleccionables, preferiblemente no insertados en el video.

• La inscripción debe ser realizada por el director, el productor o por los titulares representantes legales de la distribución del cortometraje (en adelante cineasta), que deberá disponer de los derechos sobre los contenidos de la obra y el resto de materiales que aporte.

• Deberán ser obras artísticas originales, quedando excluidas las meras reproducciones de acontecimientos de cualquier índole y aquellas de carácter publicitario.

• Como festival internacional se admiten obras de cualquier país.

• Si la obra no ha sido premiada en ediciones anteriores se puede volver a presentar.

• Fecha límite de producción: No hay limitación.

• Número máximo de obras por cada autor: No hay limitación.

 

2/.- PROGRAMA :

a.- Inscripciones del 1 de abril al 30 de junio 2026.
b.- Notificación el 15 de julio de 2026.
c.- Festival del 15 de septiembre al 15 de octubre de 2026.
d.- Filmmaker’s Weekend Fest (FWF) con entrega de premios el 3 de octubre de 2026.

Los trofeos que no puedan ser recogidos por los cineastas en la entrega de premios oficial del Filmmaker’s Weekend Fest (FWF), serán enviados a los interesados por cuenta del festival. En el caso de que de que el país del envío del trofeo tuviera costes aduaneros, estos deberán ser por cuenta del destinatario.

4/.- PROCESO INSCRIPCIÓN y SELECCIÓN

La preinscripción y preselección se podrá realizar online en la web del propio festival o también mediante alguna de las siguientes plataformas de festivales: Festhome, Filmfreeway, Clickforfestivals y Movibeta.

​

Una vez preseleccionado el cortometraje, el cineasta será notificado por correo electrónico. En el caso de haberse inscrito a través de alguna de las plataformas de festivales mencionadas en el párrafo anterior, el cineasta deberá inscribirse definitivamente online en la plataforma web del festival KFFSS como requisito indispensable, no pudiendo ser retirado o modificado el cortometraje desde ese momento. ​El cineasta se compromete a mantener accesible para el KFFSS su cortometraje seleccionado, por todo el tiempo que dure el festival.

​

Las películas inscritas en el festival podrán quedar clasificadas como:
1.- Ganadoras de alguno de los premios.
2.- Nominadas Finalistas.
3.- Seleccionadas Oficialmente a concurso.

​

​Un Jurado elegido por KFFSS entre los cineastas finalistas de ediciones anteriores, determinará los cortometrajes nominados finalistas y los ganadores de los diferentes premios. Las decisiones del jurado serán secretas e inapelables.

Las películas ganadoras de premios serán invitadas a enviar al festival una copia de su película, con lo subtítulos grabados en español, para la exhibición en la entrega de premios.

6/.- TASAS DE INSCRIPCIÓN

​

El festival tiene establecida una tasa de inscripción del 10€, no reembolsable.

​

7/.- FILMMAKER’S WEEKEND FEST (FWF)

Todos los cineastas que hayan participado con sus películas en alguna de las ediciones del Kursaal Film Festival San Sebastián (KFFSS) tienen ganado el derecho a inscribirse y participar en cualquiera de las ediciones del Filmmaker’s Weekend Fest (FWF).
 

8/.- KURSAAL CHANNEL (KC)

Una vez finalizado el festival, las películas inscritas en el KFFSS serán invitadas a inscribirse en el Kursaal Channel (KC).
 

9/.- GARANTÍAS Y RESPONSABILIDADES DE LOS PARTICIPANTES.

​

Con el fin de que se respeten los derechos de terceros y de evitar situaciones anómalas en el desarrollo del KFFSS, se comunica que:

​

8.a).- PROTECCION DE MENORES. KFFSS es un festival orientado a un público adulto ( mayores de edad legal  o 18 años ), por lo que KFFSS no puede controlar el acceso de personas menores de edad. Por ello, KFFSS no pueden admitir responsabilidad alguna al respecto, advirtiendo que serán los padres y tutores los únicos responsables de controlar y asistir a los menores en la navegación por las páginas de KFFSS y de la Web del festival, y serán así mismo responsables de habilitar cualesquiera otros mecanismos necesarios que, en su caso, impidan el acceso por parte de los menores, no admitiendo KFFSS  ninguna responsabilidad ni reclamación al respecto.

8.b).- CONTENIDO DE LOS CORTOMETRAJES.  Los cineastas participantes que inscriban un cortometraje en el KFFSS deberá disponer de  todos los derechos de propiedad intelectual ( video, música, guion, personas, etc), derechos de imagen y de distribución pública por cualquier medio necesarios para ello,  serán los únicos responsables legales del contenido del mismo, responderán de su contenido y de cuantas declaraciones, obligaciones y responsabilidades se asumen por el hecho de la participación de conformidad con las bases recogidas en este documento.  Los cortometrajes no pueden contener ningún tipo de material ilícito, ni pornográfico, ni que atente a cualquier derecho de tercero.  El cineasta participante será el único y exclusivo responsable de las reclamaciones que reciba KFFSS, eximiendo a esta de toda responsabilidad que se derive de su utilización y asumiendo las responsabilidades económicas o de otra índole que pudieran derivarse.

​

8.c).- DERECHOS DE LOS CORTOMETRAJES.   La participación en el KFFSS supone la cesión gratuita por parte de los cineastas participantes, sin limitación territorial alguna y por el tiempo de duración del festival, de todos los derechos de reproducción, comunicación pública, puesta a disposición y distribución de los cortometrajes presentados al festival (incluidos fragmentos o tráileres de los mismos y cualquier tipo de material gráfico de los cortometrajes, en caso de ser requerido): (i) para su exhibición, inclusión y divulgación durante el festival en modo screening y/o streaming ; (ii) en otros medios de comunicación de entidades públicas y/o privadas que participen colaborando con el festival.  Los participantes asumen que KFFSS podrá comunicar el nombre de los ganadores por cualquier medio de comunicación.

9/.- VARIOS.

​

En caso de que: (i) no hubiera participantes, (ii) el seguimiento fuera inferior al esperado, o (iii) la calidad de los cortometrajes no fuera la mínima exigida por KFFSS y/o el Jurado, los premios podrán declararse desiertos o se podrá cancelar la presente edición del festival. También podrá modificarse o cancelarse, en todo o en parte, y aplazarse el festival, incluso una vez empezado, por circunstancias de fuerza mayor a consideración de KFFSS.

​

KFFSS podrá retirar del festival cualquier cortometraje que no reúna los requisitos de participación requeridos en estas BASES o incumpla las mismas.

​

En caso de traducción de las presentes Bases  a cualquier otro idioma, siempre prevalecerá la versión en idioma español.

​

El responsable de los datos personales que se faciliten como consecuencia de la participación en el KFFSS que los tratarán de conformidad con la normativa aplicable en España y según la política de privacidad del KFFSS,  que también puedes encontrar tanto en las fichas de inscripción al KFFSS como en un enlace permanente al pie de nuestra página web.

​

Para toda cuestión litigiosa que pudiera dimanar del presente festival, tanto KFFSS como los ganadores y resto de participantes en el mismo hacen expresa renuncia a cualquier fuero que pudiera corresponderles, y expresamente se someten a los Juzgados y Tribunales de la ciudad de San Sebastián (España).

EL HECHO DE PARTICIPAR O INTENTAR PARTICIPAR EN ESTA EDICIÓN DEL FESTIVAL SUPONE LA TOTAL ACEPTACIÓN DE ESTAS BASES. EN CASO DE SITUACIONES NO PREVISTAS KFFSS DECIDIRÁ EN CADA MOMENTO.

GENERAL RULES

​

The "Kursaal Film Festival San Sebastián" (KFFSS) is an international short film festival promoted by filmmakers to showcase the cinematografic talent of the filmmakers. The festival format is online VOD (streaming), with an awards ceremony held within the Filmmaker's Weekend Fest (FWF).

​

By registering for the KFFSS, participating filmmakers agree to comply with the following

​

RULES OF PARTICIPATION

​

1.- GENERAL REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS:

​

• Films are free of charge, within the framework established by these rules.
• Films must be between 1 and 30 minutes long.
• Films must be installed on Vimeo (with an access key), accessible without age restrictions, and with the embed option enabled. Any other streaming platform option, such as YouTube or Dailymotion, that does not offer Vimeo's embedding, security, and privacy features, will be at the filmmaker's own risk.
• Languages: Films in a language other than Spanish must have Spanish subtitles, in selectable SRT format, preferably not embedded in the video.
• Submission must be made by the director, producer, or the legal representative of the short film's distribution (hereinafter the filmmaker), who must hold the rights to the content of the work and any other materials provided.
• Works must be original artistic works; mere reproductions of events of any kind and those for advertising purposes are excluded.
• As an international festival, works from any country are accepted.
• If the work has not won awards in previous editions, it may be submitted again.
• Production deadline: No limit.
• Maximum number of works per author: No limit.

c.- Festival from September 15 to October 15, 2026.
d.- Filmmaker's Weekend Fest (FWF) with awards ceremony on October 3, 2026.

Trophies that filmmakers cannot collect at the official Filmmaker's Weekend Fest (FWF) awards ceremony will be sent to the interested parties at the festival's expense. If the country where the trophy is being sent incurs customs fees, these will be borne by the recipient.

​

4.- REGISTRATION AND SELECTION PROCESS

​

Pre-registration and pre-selection can be done online on the festival's website or through one of the following festival platforms: Festhome, Filmfreeway, Clickforfestivals, and Movibeta.

​

Once the short film has been pre-selected, the filmmaker will be notified by email. If you have registered through one of the festival platforms mentioned in the previous paragraph, the filmmaker must register definitively online on the KFFSS festival website as an essential requirement. The short film cannot be withdrawn or modified from that moment on. The filmmaker agrees to keep their selected short film accessible to the KFFSS for the entire duration of the festival.

​

Films entered into the festival may be classified as:
1. Winners of any of the awards.
2. Nominated Finalists.
3. Officially Selected for the competition.

​

A jury selected by the KFFSS from among the finalist filmmakers from previous editions will determine the short films nominated as finalists and the winners of the various awards. The jury's decisions will be secret and final.

Award-winning films will be invited to send a copy of their film, with Spanish subtitles, to the festival for screening at the awards ceremony.

​

5/.- FESTIVAL INFORMATION OFFICE:

6/.- REGISTRATION FEES

​

The festival has a non-refundable registration fee of €10.

​

7/.- FILMMAKER'S WEEKEND FEST (FWF)

All filmmakers who have participated with their films in any edition of the Kursaal Film Festival San Sebastián (KFFSS) are entitled to register and participate in any edition of the Filmmaker's Weekend Fest (FWF).

​

8/.- KURSAAL CHANNEL (KC)

​

Once the festival is over, films entered in the KFFSS will be invited to register on the Kursaal Channel (KC).

​

9.- WARRANTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF PARTICIPANTS.

In order to respect the rights of third parties and avoid abnormal situations during the KFFSS, we hereby inform you that:

​

8.a.- PROTECTION OF MINORS. KFFSS is a festival aimed at an adult audience (those of legal age or 18 years of age), and therefore KFFSS cannot control access by minors. Therefore, KFFSS cannot accept any liability in this regard. Parents and guardians are hereby advised that they are solely responsible for supervising and assisting minors while browsing the KFFSS pages and the festival website. They are also responsible for enabling any other necessary mechanisms that, where appropriate, prevent access by minors. KFFSS accepts no liability or claim in this regard.

8.b.- CONTENT OF THE SHORT FILMS. Participating filmmakers who submit a short film to the KFFSS must have all intellectual property rights (video, music, script, characters, etc.), image rights, and public distribution rights by any means necessary. They will be solely legally responsible for its content and will be responsible for any statements, obligations, and responsibilities assumed by participation in accordance with the rules set forth in this document. Short films may not contain any illegal or pornographic material, nor may they infringe any third-party rights. The participating filmmaker will be solely and exclusively responsible for any claims received by the KFFSS, exempting the KFFSS from any liability arising from its use and assuming any financial or other liability that may arise.

8.c) - RIGHTS TO SHORT FILM Participation in the KFFSS entails the free transfer by participating filmmakers, without any territorial limitations and for the duration of the festival, of all reproduction, public communication, availability, and distribution rights of the short films submitted to the festival (including excerpts or trailers and any graphic material of the short films, if required): (i) for their exhibition, inclusion, and dissemination during the festival in screening and/or streaming format; (ii) in other media outlets of public and/or private entities that participate or collaborate with the festival. Participants agree that KFFSS may announce the names of the winners by any means of communication.

9/.- MISCELLANEOUS.

​

In the event that: (i) there are no participants, (ii) the attendance is lower than expected, or (iii) the quality of the short films does not meet the minimum requirements of KFFSS and/or the Jury, the prizes may be declared void or the current edition of the festival may be canceled. The festival may also be modified or canceled, in whole or in part, and postponed, even after it has begun, due to circumstances beyond the control of KFFSS.

 

KFFSS may withdraw from the festival any short film that does not meet the participation requirements set forth in these RULES or violates them.

​

In the event that these Rules are translated into any other language, the Spanish version will always prevail.

The controller of the personal data provided as a result of participation in the KFFSS will process it in accordance with the regulations applicable in Spain and according to the KFFSS privacy policy, which can also be found both on the KFFSS registration forms and via a permanent link at the bottom of our website.

​

For any legal disputes that may arise from this festival, both KFFSS and the winners and other participants expressly waive any jurisdiction to which they may be entitled and expressly submit to the Courts and Tribunals of the city of San Sebastián (Spain).

​

PARTICIPATING OR ATTEMPTING TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS EDITION OF THE FESTIVAL IMPLIES FULL ACCEPTANCE OF THESE RULES. IN THE EVENT OF UNFORESEEN SITUATIONS, KFFSS WILL DECIDE AT ALL TIMES.
